Wikipedia and Research: Should Teachers Allow It?

A friend of mine created this info graphic on Wikipedia and its use in research… Let me know what you think below in the comments!

I see Wikipedia as a great place to get answers to quick questions. A place to get a good overview of a topic and possibly even glean some primary or secodnary resource as I start to collect references on a topic. Educationally, I think it is a great place to encourage students to contribute knowledge on a topic of interest to them, etc.

So do you use Wikipedia as a resource for research? How?   Is it any more or less valid a resource than the printed encyclopedias? What other uses do you see educationally?
